Cove set for return to state 7-on-7

By TJ MAXWELL   The Copperas Cove Bulldawg 7-on-7 team makes a return trip to the State 7-on-7 tournament after a three-year layoff from the skill position showdown that will be under the watchful eyes of college recruiters and talent scouts.

By TJ MAXWELL   Gabriella “Gabby” Emeana out-hit, out-pitched and out-ran the competition on her way to the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run National Finals to be played as part of the MLB All- Star week festivities. The competition will be held at 2 p.m.

Sports Briefs

Simone Vallot of Copperas Cove finished third in the 100-meter dash at the Cedar Creek Track Meet in Bastrop in the last Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) meet before regional. She also finished fourth in the long jump. The regional meet will be this week at Judson High School in San Antonio.
