Ellee Fox, a sixth-grader at Copperas Cove Junior High, was selected to compete in the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 31 through August 2nd. Fox is competing with 101 other competitors from around the globe in the 11-under age group.

By TJ MAXWELL   Football must go on. That is the prevailing sentiment of the dozens on hand for a benefit to help save the Copperas Cove Youth Football League’s tackle football program on Sunday at Dave’s Sports Bar and Grill in Copperas Cove.

Jost had two home runs on Tuesday against the Belton Angels and followed it up with two more on Wednesday against the Bobcats.

The 2014 University Interscholastic League Football State Championship games will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington the League announced Tuesday. For only the second year, all 11-man and six-man football championship games will be played at the same location.

Cove Youth Soccer League well underway

By TJ MAXWELL   The Copperas Cove Youth Soccer League got underway last Saturday with 28 teams in four separate age groups. Ten teams make up the 7-under group, with eight teams comprising the 9-under group, six making up the 12-under group and four teams for the 15-under group.
