Cove Football Camp underway

By TJ MAXWELL   The sights and sounds of football were all around during the first day of the 2014 Copperas Cove NFL Football Camp Monday at Bulldawg Stadium. More than 250 student athletes were paired up in positions that highlighted their particular skill sets.

Cove athletes fair well at AAU Nationals

By TJ MAXWELL   Cove track and football standout Andrew Leuthner and eighth-grader Kyle Stifflemire had strong showings last week at the Ametuer Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 12U Copperas Cove Royals finished secondout of 14 teams at  the 2014 Texas Teenage Baseball 12U Open Base State Tournament in Belton last week. Out of more than 500 12U teams in Texas, the Royals finished in second place.

Ellee Fox, a sixth-grader at Copperas Cove Junior High, was selected to compete in the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 31 through August 2nd. Fox is competing with 101 other competitors from around the globe in the 11-under age group.
