By TJ MAXWELL   PFLUGERVILLE – A blistering pace to begin the 2014-15 season has the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs volleyball squad seasoned and tired. The team has played 20 games in just 16 days – capped by a straight-set win over Pflugerville Connally (25-13, 25-8, 25-14) on Tuesday.

By TJ MAXWELL   It was standing room only during the inaugural meeting of the 2014-15 Quarterback Club held at its new time at noon on Wednesdays at the Lil-Tex Restaurant. “This is the largest crowd I’ve seen at a quarterback club meeting,” said club chairperson Bradi Diaz to open the meeting.

By TJ Maxwell.   ABILENE – The Copperas Cove offense showed signs of their prolific power from a year ago and the defense bent, but didn’t break, on Friday morning during their annual scrimmage with Abilene High.

Cove returners bolster reloaded offense

By TJ MAXWELL   The Bulldawgs have been chomping at the bit all summer to get back on the field against another team after a tumultuous season that had one of the most prolific offenses in the state but fell short of their ultimate goals – winning district and state.

Cook serves up Lady Dawgs win

By TJ MAXWELL   Savannah Cook has been waiting for her time to shine and lead her Lady Dawgs to victory. She did just that on Tuesday at Round Rock Stony Point as the Lady Dawgs pounded the Tigers 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-17) to improve to 11-1 on the season.

By TJ MAXWELL   The Copperas Cove tennis team improved their season record to 8-6 on Tuesday with a 14-5 win over the Lampasas Badgers. “Our boys had a big night tonight sweeping Lampasas 9-0,” said head coach Paul Talbett. “Our girls played well against a strong Lampasas team as well, going 5-4.
