Cove to close out tourney season at Volleypalooza

By TJ MAXWELL

PFLUGERVILLE – A blistering pace to begin the 2014-15 season has the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs volleyball squad seasoned and tired. The team has played 20 games in just 16 days – capped by a straight-set win over Pflugerville Connally (25-13, 25-8, 25-14) on Tuesday. “That’s what you’ve got to do to get ready because district will be here before we know it,” said Copperas Cove head volleyball coach Cari Lowery. “We’ll have another, potentially, nine or 10 games this weekend so we’ve got to play, make changes on the run and make things happen when we need them to happen. They’re doing that. I was very pleased with how they played this weekend in the (Grandbury) tournament.”
