By TJ MAXWELL   After one game, the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs looked like state championship contenders with a recordsetting performance against A&M Consolidated where they racked up 850 yards of offense on 91 plays in a 62-38 revenge-win over the Tigers.

Canete making a name at next level

By TJ MAXWELL   Former Cove volleyball standout Qiana Canete continues to put up impressive numbers in her freshman year at the University of Texas at Arlington. In her first year at the next level, she leads her team in kills with 316 and is second on the team with 398 kills.

Young Cove XC team competes at Regionals

By TJ MAXWELL   Some of the top runners in the state of Texas converged on Lynn Creek Park on the shores of picturesque Joe Pool Lake on Saturday for the UIL Region II Cross Country Championships.

CCYFL tackle divisions enter playoffs Saturday

By TJ MAXWELL   The Copperas Cove Youth Football League tackle divisions begin their postseason play this Saturday with all games played at the Avenue E. field. In Division I, the Cowboys (2-4) and Lions (1-5) playing at 9 a.m. in Game 1. The Eagles (4-2) and Seahawks (1-5) will play at 10:15 a.m.
