By TJ MAXWELL   The Bulldawgs have been waiting all season and two long weeks for this opportunity. The Bulldawgs get their third season underway tomorrow against the No. 19 Rockwall Yellowjackets after getting a bye in the final week of District 12-6A play.

The Lady Dawgs have a tough quarterfinal matchup against 10th-ranked Richardson Pearce tonight at Hillsboro High School. The first serve it tentatively set for 7 p.m.

By TJ MAXWELL   It didn’t take long to see that the Copperas Cove Lady Dawg volleyball team was lazer-focused on the task at hand. The nerves from their first playoff endeavor had dissipated and they were ready to roll, and that they did, right over Mesquite Horn 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-12).

By TJ MAXWELL   Aggressive defense and an opportunistic offense guided the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs to a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25- 22, 28-26) victory over the 11-6A tri-champion Rockwall Lady Jackets Tuesday night at Corsicana High School.
Copperas Cove running back Trent Canion leads the Dawgs in rushing with 1,086 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year. The Bulldawgs finished the regular season 7-3 and second in District 12-6A. They await the results on the final regular season game to find out who their opponent will be.

By TJ MAXWELL   Former Cove volleyball standout Qiana Canete continues to put up impressive numbers in her freshman year at the University of Texas at Arlington. In her first year at the next level, she leads her team in kills with 316 and is second on the team with 398 kills.
