The win puts Cove in the Regional Quarterfinals for the first time in eight years. It didn’t take long to see that the Copperas Cove Lady Dawg volleyball team was lazer-focused on the task at hand. The nerves from their first playoff endeavor had dissipated and they were ready to roll, and that they did, right over Mesquite Horn 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-12). “Not so many nerves tonight,” said Copperas Cove head coach Cari Lowery about her team’s performance. “A lot of stuff went right. We passed the ball pretty consistently and serving was good. We remembered what they were going to do and we handled it.
