Former Copperas Cove standout Phillip Baptiste will make his return to Bulldawg Stadium this Saturday as member of the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals. The Cardinals will take on Coffeyville Community College in Game 1 of the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Game 2 will pit Texas A&M-Commerce against East Central University in a NCAA Division II tilt at 6 p.m.

Cove hoopsters return to action

By TJ MAXWELL   The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (3-5) and Lady Dawgs (6-3) return to action tonight after a week off for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Dawgs will host Austin Westlake and the Lady Dawgs will travel to Waco to take on the Waco High Lady Lions.

Cove girls earn split in home stand

Dawgs rebound with 91-79 win

By TJ MAXWELL After missing 10 of their 26 free throws on Monday in a loss to Lake Travis, the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs hit 28 of 34 free throws en route to a 91-79 win over the Pflugerville Panthers on Tuesday night. Cove hit on 16 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Bulldawgs go 1-4 in prestigious tourney

By TJ MAXWELL   The Bulldawgs jumped right in the fire with a trip to the 12th Annual McDonald’s Texas Invitational over the weekend. The tournament pits 80 of the top boys and girls teams in Texas against one another in a three-day tournament.

Bulldawgs begin hoops season with win

By JOHN HENRY MEDINA   The Copperas Cove boys’ basketball team opened the 2014-2015 season with a dominant 57-45 win over Akins on Monday night in Austin. Senior Rashard Odomes scored 19 points and senior Chance Smith added 17 to lead the Bulldawgs (1-0).
