Season Wrap-Up Bulldawgs finish season 7-3, await playoff opponent

By TJ MAXWELL

After one game, the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs looked like state championship contenders with a recordsetting performance against A&M Consolidated where they racked up 850 yards of offense on 91 plays in a 62-38 revenge-win over the Tigers. An injury to starting quarterback Manny Harris and back-to-back losses to Lake Travis and Round Rock, where they combined for just 16 points while surrendering 36.5, put a bleak oulook on the 2014 season and gave doubters reason to believe that the Bulldawgs may be in trouble with a much-improved district slate. “We just wanted to finish the season strong,” said Harris after their season finale against Shoemaker. “We had a lot of doubters coming into the season. This is one of the games they doubted us in and we just wanted to come out and perform and that’s what we did.”
