CCJH and SC Lee split cross-town matchups at CCHS

By DAVID MORRIS The Copperas Cove Junior High Lady Bullpups and S.C. Lee Cougars squared off Monday in a cross town matchup on the hardwood of Bulldawg Gym with the CCJH claiming the eight grade bragging rights and S.C. Lee the seventh grade games.

By DAVID MORRIS BELTON-Jockeying for position in District 8-5A, the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs and Killeen Kangaroos squared off inside the Frank and Sue Mayborn Campus Center Friday evening to break the third place tie and decide the seeding for the bi-district round of the Class 5A playoffs.

By DAVID MORRIS GARLAND - Working for a pinfall in his fourth match of the state wrestling meet, a stop in action for blood gave the advantage to Grand Prairie senior Vincent Meraz, ending Copperas Cove sophomore Lane Teeter’s run for a state title in the 106 pound class.

Sophomore Lane Teeter controls his practice partner as he prepares for the state meet. Teeter is the only Copperas Cove representative to head to Garland for competition.
