By TJ MAXWELL For the second consecutive year, Copperas Cove’s Shelbie Letzer garnered top player honors in the all-district voting. The senior was named Midfielder of the Year on the 2014 8-5A All-District Team.

The Cove girls golf team finished third at the District 8-5A Girls Golf Tournament at the Stonetree Golf Course in Killeen on Thursday. Morrison’s two-day total of 169 earns her a trip to the Region I tournament in Lubbock April 14-15.

Five Cove athletes sign with colleges

By TJ MAXWELL Five Copperas Cove athletes participated in a signing ceremony at the high school on Wednesday morning. Three footballers, a volleyballer and a swimmer inked commitment papers to continue their education and compete at the collegiate level in their respective sports.

The preliminary master plan for Ogletree Gap includes several baseball and softball fields along with three areas that could be developed into a frisbee golf course.
