Belton, Kerens and Gatesville still in race for 10U title

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   The month-long hiatus from the baseball playoffs might not have been a good thing for the host teams Copperas Cove Astros and Red Sox during the Texas Teenage Baseball Association 10U Tight Base State Baseball Playoffs held this week at Copperas Cove City Park.

Throughout the winter and spring workouts Coach Tracy Welch led the ‘Dawgs by saying attitude is everything.  In everything we do, attitude is involved.  We often hear how people think of a half glass of water.  Is the glass half empty or half full?

Fishing the “Dog Days” of Summer

W ell even if we wanted it or not, the “Dog Days” of summer are fully upon us. With temperatures starting out in the mid to high 80s in the morning and zooming up to and beyond the 100s by mid-day it’s time to fish early and leave early. Does that mean that we should stop fishing? Heck No!

Serve! Dig! Set! Spike! Repeat process! That’s how you describe Copperas Cove Lady Dawg volleyball in its rawest form and I’m looking forward to seeing plenty of that in this upcoming 2017 season, when the Bi-District Champion Lady Dawgs go hunting for another playoff berth.

Dawgs and Lady Dawgs athletic events on the internet!

I was recently asked if the Dawg football games would be on radio this year. In the traditional sense of on-air radio the answer would be no. The Dawgs will be heard on Internet radio though. Internet radio is call podcasts.

Four teams to represent Cove in TTABS tournaments
