By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   On Thursday morning, an estimated 7,988 students headed back to campuses in the Copperas Cove Independent School District. Over at Halstead Elementary, about 400 of those students started arriving shortly after 7 a.m.

CCISD calls for $165 million bond election in November

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   Voters within the boundaries of the Copperas Cove Independent School District will see a special election on their Nov. 4 ballot, a $165 million bond package. On Tuesday evening, the CCISD board of trustees voted unanimously to call for the election.

By LYNETTE SOWELL  Cove Leader-Press    The Copperas Cove city council took a record vote to propose a new tax rate during its meeting on Tuesday evening. The proposed tax rate is $0.686419 per $100 valuation, which is higher than the current tax rate of $0.661043.

CCISD rep: bond proposal details to be on board agendas Aug. 11 and 12

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   After a May 2024 bond that did not pass with Copperas Cove ISD voters, the district will be trying again in November 2025 for another bond. However, the details of that bond will look like have not yet been released.
