Copperas Cove City pools to open for Memorial Day weekend, then temporarily close

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press     The Copperas Cove City Park Pool and South Park Pool will open for the summer season on Saturday, May 24. Memorial Day Weekend, pool hours will be 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Memorial Day.

45th annual Rabbit Fest draws crowds despite heat and humidity

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   Despite the threat of strong storms and the “R” word – rain – the 45th annual Rabbit Fest held by the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce saw an estimated attendance of tens of thousands over the four-day period last Thursday through Sunday.

Mandatory Stage 4A Water Conservation to begin May 26 in Copperas Cove

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   Beginning Monday May 26, at 6 p.m, Bell County Water Control & Improvement District #1 (WCID 1) will be initiating Stage 3 of its Drought Contingency Plan, seeking a 30 percent reduction in water usage. This could could last up to four days.
