Annual Food for Families Food Drive set for Nov. 21

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   This year will mark the 36th annual Food for Families, the largest single day food drive in the Central Texas area. The event, set for Friday, Nov. 21, collects food and monetary donations to help stock food pantries within each area’s community.

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   Two local organizations are teaming up for one event on Saturday, Nov. 22. Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful (KCCB) and Not Rich, But Enriched are sharing space at City Park for the Fall Sweep and for the 2nd annual Cove Pup Fun Run or Walk 5K.

Two out of three CCISD bond propositions pass, superintendent shares about the path ahead

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   For the second time in two years, voters within the Copperas Cove Independent School District boundaries will see a bond on an election ballot. Proposition A, which totals a little more than $142 million, passed 2,884 to 2,090, or 58 to 42 percent.

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   The Copperas Cove High School Bulldawg BBQ team brought the heat at the recent National High School Association’s Regional BBQ Competition in Elgin. Bulldawg BBQ placed 3rd overall and has officially qualified for the State Competition.

The festival, organized by the city’s Special Events and Parks and Recreation, was scheduled to start at 4 p.

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   For the second time in three years, the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs took first place in the annual Peanut Butter Bowl. Altogether, a total of 12,240 jars of peanut butter were collected in Copperas Cove.
