The Nov. 4 election is less than four weeks away, and Copperas Cove ISD voters will have an opportunity to hear from CCISD board of trustees candidates.
The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce is holding a forum on Thursday, Oct. 16, starting at 6 p.m., at the Copperas Cove city council chambers, located at 508 S. 2nd St.
The chamber also plans to live stream the forum on its Facebook page; however, no livestream questions will be answered at the form. The chamber invites voters to submit questions for the forum to chamber@copperascove.com.
The Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees candidates include:
Place 3: Leah Elmore, Samantha Cochran-Wilson
Place 4: Joan Manning (incumbent), Bradley Vaughn
Place 5: Heather Copeland (incumbent), Carl “Moose” Smith, Trang Nguyen.
In the event that no single candidate in the Place 5 three-way race receives more than 50 percent of the vote, there will not be a runoff election, as there would be for a city council race. In this case, a simple majority will decide the winner.
Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 20 and goes through Friday, Nov. 5.
The first week of early voting, polls will be open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 20-24.
October 27-29, polls will be open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Copperas Cove Early Voting Center is located at 809 S. Main St. The Early Voting Center will be open extended hours on Thursday, Oct. 30 and Friday, Oct. 31, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Early Voting is also taking place at the Gatesville Annex, 800 E. Main St., Ste B.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, countywide vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Copperas Cove locations include:
Copperas Cove Civic Center, 1206 W. Ave. B
Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd.
Eastside Baptist Church, 1202 MLK Jr. Blvd.
