VFW Post 8577 and Ladies Auxiliary announce the Teachers Award Contest.  Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism are prime candidates for this award.

Fire Chief settles into role at station

By DAVID MORRIS   The third time was the charm for Michael Neujahr to be named the Copperas Cove Fire Chief. Making the move from the Killeen Fire Department where he served since 2002, Neujahr has settled into his office at Central Fire Station and is now in his third week of work.

Community takes advantage of low-cost pet vaccination clinic

By LYNETTE SOWELL   A chorus of barking periodically filled the air at the Copperas Cove Civic Center on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m., as residents brought their cats and dogs for a vaccination clinic, hosted by the Copperas Cove Animal Shelter.

Public hearing for tax rate increase entertaining
