Blue Santa holds open house in new office

By DAVID J. HARDIN Cove Leader-Press   Blue Santa of Copperas Cove held an open house at its new offices located in the Cove Terrace Shopping Center, on Tuesday evening.
CCLP/LYNETTE SOWELL - The driver of a Volkswagen Beetle crashed the vehicle through the front entrance and windows at Buddy’s Home Furnishings shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday night. The store is located at 309 E. Business 190. According to Sgt. Martin Ruiz with the Copperas Cove Police Department, the driver lost control of the vehicle after possibly having a medical emergency and could not stop before striking the building. No one was injured.

Parks and Recreation working to boost tourism

By WENDY SLEDD CCISD Public Information Officer   AUSTIN — There was a lot of catching up to do for CCHS senior Brett Alber. He had to learn the ropes quickly or he and his teammate would find themselves sunk in the competition.

County commissioners approve new mental health deputy

By CHUCK TAYLOR Cove Leader-Press   The Coryell County Commissioners Court approved the addition oif a fifth mental health deputy to the sheriff’s department on Monday.   Room was found in the budget for the deputy, a car, uniform and equipment.
