Trustees honored

By LYNETTE SOWELL   The parents and staff of Halstead Elementary School treated the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees to a plentiful breakfast smorgasbord on Wednesday morning, in commemoration of January’s school board appreciation month.

Kempner Water raises rates on customers

By DAVID MORRIS   Central Texas residents have been able to breathe a sigh of relief while visiting the gas pumps during the recent nine-month dip at the pump to see gas prices less than two dollars a gallon.

Superintendent contract runs through 2020

Fire dept changes date on wet down ceremony

The Copperas Cove Fire Department announced Tuesday that the public Wet Down Ceremony scheduled for Feb. 2, 2015 has been moved and will now be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Central Fire Station. Central Fire Station is located at 415 South Main Street.

Knights of Columbus host MLK dinner

County pledges to back veterans mental health grant application

By LYNETTE SOWELL   The United Way of the Greater Fort Hood Area has submitted a proposal to the Texas Veterans Initiative in the hopes that it might receive as much as $500,000 in funding for programs to help local veterans dealing with mental health issues.
