Hundreds of kids and their parents showed up this past Saturday as the Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation Department held their annual Fishing in the Park. The morning started out warm but slowly cooled as the event began. Royalty from the Rabbit Festival were on hand helping folks sign up, get their tackle ready and directing participants over for some food and hot chocolate. There was plenty of food including free hot dogs which were being cooked and handed out by members of the North Pointe Church. The Copperas Cove Bass Club was on hand to give out hooks and sinkers as well as instructions on how to tie various fishing knots.
