Cove holds annual Christmas parade downtown

By DAVID J. HARDIN It is official, the City of Copperas Cove is in the Christmas spirit.   On Saturday, Copperas Cove held its annual Christmas Parade, organized by the Armed Services YMCA.

By LYNETTE SOWELL When Copperas Cove High School freshman Shelby Fletcher was killed in an ATV accident on October 21, her family was devastated by her loss and are still mourning the loss of the choir student and volunteer with the Citizens Fire and Public Safety Volunteer Association.

By LYNETTE SOWELL The U.S. Army Recruiting Center is now open for business again in Copperas Cove, after being closed for several years.   On Wednesday, the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and the recruiting center’s staff held a ribbon cutting and grand reopening ceremony.

By CHUCK TAYLOR Thousands arrived at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery south of Killeen on Saturday morning to remember and lay wreaths at the graves of their loved ones. Saturday was a cold, rainy and windy day with a temperature hovering around 36 degrees and the air feeling like 29.
