Optimist Club donates to Cove House Free Clinic

Copperas Cove City sales tax revenue slips 1.13%

By LYNETTE SOWELL The state comptroller’s office has released its sales tax revenue report for January 2016, and the city of of Copperas Cove will be seeing a slightly smaller check this month compared to revenue in January 2015.   The city will receive a sales tax rebate for of $310,900.

By LYNETTE SOWELL   A late-afternoon house fire swept through a house in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue on Sunday, displacing two tenants and killing at least two pit bulls who were unable to be rescued from the house.

Wreath retrieval set for Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

By LYNETTE SOWELL   Volunteers are needed to help retrieve more than 5,000 wreaths placed on graves at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 TX-195, south of Killeen.   The wreath retrieval will take place Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.

2015: A Year in Review

“Hug Lady” passes away, services set for this weekend
