Churches holding VBS in Cove area

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press    A summer tradition for many families in Copperas Cove is attending annual Vacation Bible School, a five-day program at churches which give children up to sixth grade a chance to enjoy Bible-themed crafts, stories and songs and a snack.

Noon Exchange Club recognizes senior citizen of the quarter

Special to Leader-Press    The Noon Exchange Club of Copperas Cove met on May 26 at Lil’ Tex Restaurant. President Inez Faison called the meeting to order, and Pastor Brian Hawkins led the invocation.

Masonic Lodge presents check to soup kitchen

By DAVID J. HARDIN Cove Leader-Press    Mt. Hiram Masonic Lodge #595 held a check presentation ceremony Wednesday night, donating $325 to the Copperas Cove Soup Kitchen. On hand to accept the check was soup kitchen director Patrick Richardson.

Cove woman remembers the fallen

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press    Not every veteran laid to rest at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen has a group of friends and family that gather to remember them. However, veterans will still receive a funeral with military honors, no matter how many—or how few—attend.
