Mathnasium gets kids moving, works on math

By LYNETTE SOWELL   Students at Hettie Halstead Elementary are having the chance to keep moving in P.E. class while practicing their math skills at the same time. During P.E. for three Fridays in October, students are participating in what’s called a Mathnasium.

Elementary students learn about fire prevention

By LYNETTE SOWELL   In commemoration of Fire Prevention Week, the Copperas Cove Fire Department paid a visit to Halstead Elementary School on Friday morning, bringing with them Engine 2 and an ambulance, with the Copperas Cove Police Department sending an officer with a patrol vehicle.

Council follows Mayors lead on sidewalks

By DAVID MORRIS   A unified Copperas Cove City Council followed the direction of Mayor John Hull Tuesday night where he directed the Avenue D sidewalk project to be split into three phases and submitting at both the regional level and state level for funding.

CCHS brothers start up iPhone repair shop

By WENDY SLEDD   Necessity is the mother of invention and a broken cell phone is what led to twin brothers at Copperas Cove High School opening their own iPhone repair business.
The Copperas Cove High School Prom Committee will have a booth during the fall sale downtown Saturday. Students were encouraged to bring their items they don’t use for donations.

Downtown set to host city-wide sale

By DAVID MORRIS   The early bird will surely get the worm, Saturday as more than two dozen vendors are set to line Ave. E in the downtown area ofthe city for the city wide  garage sale. Gates open to the public at 8 a.m. with the vendors setup starting at 6:30 a.m.
