Shades of Texas quilt show set for next weekend

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   The Crossroads To Texas Quilt Guild is presenting its 16th Shades of Texas Quilt Show on March 18 and 19 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.   In existence for 32 years, the guild has held a show biannually. Next weekend, the hours will be 9 a.

Eighth graders get first sneak peek at high school life on Tuesday

By DAVID J. HARDIN Cove Leader-Press   On Tuesday night, Copperas Cove High School opened its doors to incoming fall 2016 freshman for an event known as “Sneak Peek at the Dawg House”.   The semi-annual event is a chance for eighth graders of Copperas Cove Junior High and S.C.

Dinner held to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

By PAMELA GRANT   The Knights of Columbus hosted a dinner at the Holy Family Catholic Church in which they invited members of the local community to join them in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.   This event marked the eleventh year that the group hosted the event.
