Spell check is not your friend

A long, long time ago, in the Dark Ages before personal computers in every home, and computers we carry around in our hands and pockets, we had to check our spelling on our own.

A bit of frustration

As I type this, I’m rather hoping that Bit has, indeed, finally worn himself out and that I’ll have some time to get work done while he’s asleep.  For those who are new to this column, Bit is the family cat.

Back in the day...

...some of us lived dangerously in the 80s, when we were in our teens. We had skills that “kids these days” don’t always have. Like, how to handle a crisis hundreds of miles from home, no cell phone, no GPS, no Internet.

Four-way standoffs

2017 In Entertainment: #ComicsGate

I normally do a single year-in-review column of entertainment news, but so much took place in 2017 – and so late in the year that it’ll likely spill over to 2018 – that a single column won’t be enough. To this end, I’m giving this story its own column so I have room to explain everything.

Our own little bubbles

My front porch I’m about to launch into a nonsensical rant. Sometimes, there’s a time to be pithy. Meaningful. Profound.  Other times, a little hissy fit or rant is called for. Hey, it makes me feel better. And, this is my front porch, soI can rant if I want to.
