Fishing summer haunts

Jasper Johnson “Hook Up”   Well guys summer is upon us and that means the bass move up to feed and back down to suspend in the heat of the day. Often the bass will move up at night and feed and then start to move out and down the higher the sun gets in the mornings.

Cove’s youth needs to trump experience at state 7on7

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs 7on7 team will make its return to the Adidas Texas State 7on7 Championships this weekend in the 128-team tournament scheduled for July 7-9 at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.

Hooked up in Austin

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   AUSTIN - J.P. Urquidez had his future all mapped out. The four-star recruit from Copperas Cove committed to play football for the Bears of Baylor University - a Christian-based university in Waco.

Counter tops leader board at Lake Limestone tourney

By JACK “JASPER” JOHNSON Cove Leader-Press   This month’s Copperas Cove Bass Club tournament was held on Lake Limestone. The club launched out of the Corps’ ramp near the dam and began the tournament at 6 a.m.   At start time for the launch you could not have asked for better weather.
