Impact aid to effect elementary students

By LYNETTE SOWELL. During the 2014-2015 school year, full-time working parents of next year’s prekindergarten students in the Copperas Cove Independent School District will have to find other daycare options for their children who attend the prekindergarten program.

Staff offered inventives to resign early

By LYNETTE SOWELL. The Copperas Cove Independent School District is preparing for the effects of losing its Heavy Impact Aid status by reducing staff throughout the district. The plan for an overall reduction of 35 instructors and 35 paraprofessionals will save the district a little more than $2.

Local artist featured at Art after Dark

By KERRI CHRISTENSEN. First Friday Art After Dark will be held tonight from 6- 9 p.m. at Frames and Things located at 216 Cove Terrace. The monthly feature recognizes local artists’ endowments with an honorary reception. The public is invited to enjoy February’s featured artist, Joe Friddle.

Ladies Auxiliary accepting entries for art contest

The Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 8577 is accepting entries for the Young American Patriotic Art Awards at VFW Post 8577. The student deadline is March 31. Participants must submit entries to the Ladies Auxiliary Scholarships Chairman or LA President by this date.
