Daddy Daughter Dance held at civic center

On Mar. 26, 1956, two weeks after asking Texans whether he should vacate his seat in the U.S. Senate in order to run for governor, Price Daniel went back on statewide television with the results of his dubious “poll.” A donnybrook was brewing over which Democrat would top the ticket in 1956.
