Council to hold tax rate hearing, workshop tonight

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press    Tonight the Copperas Cove city council is holding a special meeting tonight for have the first public hearing on the proposed property tax rate for fiscal year 2017-2018.  The proposed rate is 0.797908 per $100 of taxable assessed value.

GeekFest at CTC to kick off on Friday

Special to Leader-Press   The eighth annual GeekFest opens Friday, August 18 on the campus of Central Texas College. The weekend-long event features several gaming tournaments, cosplay demonstrations, workshops, costume contest, tabletop gaming, a film festival and other activities.

County commissioners approve a proposed property tax rate

Russell files to run for place 7

School board approves changes to dress code, student code of conduct
