City council okays reducing speed limit on Business 190

By BRITTANY FHOLER  Cove Leader-Press    The Copperas Cove city council approved reducing the speed limit on the stretch of Business 190 between Constitution Drive and Avenue D from 40 to 35 miles per hour.  The council voted 6-1, with Councilmember Jay Manning voting against.

Coryell County continues to see spike in new active COVID-19 cases

Early voting starts Monday in runoff election

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press    Early voting starts Monday for the Dec. 8 runoff election for Copperas Cove city council place 6.  Voting will take place at the Copperas Cove Early Voting Center, located at 508-B Cove Terrace Shopping Center.  Polls will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Subject of local manhunt arrested in Belton

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   Robert Westly Morris II was arrested on Tuesday evening around 8:30 in the 7600 block of Sparta Road in Belton. He was arrested without incident, according to a representative of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the agency that arrested Morris.
