Cove powerlifters compete in local meets

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   The Copperas Cove High School powerlifters hosted a meet over the weekend with several lifters claiming top four finishes.   Jaylon Hannah lifted 1,000 pounds for a second-place finish in the 148-weight class to lead the boys’ squad.

Cove soccer battles to 0-0 tie with Roos in district opener

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   The Lady Dawgs’ soccer team opened up district play Tuesday night against the Killeen Lady Kangaroos at home.   Senior Bailey French was credited with the shutout from the goalkeeper position while Le’Brittany Hodges earned the shutout for Killeen.

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   Not many shots were going in for the Lady Dawgs as they fought to stay in the playoff hunt at home Tuesday against the Ellison Lady Eagles. The final three shots, and most important of the game for Cove did go in, however.

Cove powerlifters, wrestlers and golfers have busy week

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press The Lady Dawgs hit the weights for a pair of powerlifting meets, competing both Thursday and Saturday.  Thursday they traveled west to Lampasas for competition.

Cove saves season with OT win over Belton

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press   For the first 16 minutes, it looked like the first district win by the Belton Tigers was inevitable and the Bulldawgs’ chances at a postseason berth were all but over.

Lady Dawgs go 1-3 at Rattler Roundup

By TJ MAXWELL   SAN MARCOS -- The Lady Dawgs soccer team competed in the San Marcos Rattle Roundup over the weekend and came away with a 1-3 record for a season mark of 1-5-1.   Cove began the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Cleburne on Thursday.
