Local church holds Black History Month program

National Mounted Warfare Foundation receives a $1,000,000 gift

Special to Leader-Press The National Mounted Warfare Foundation (NMWF) announced on Tuesday that it has received a $1,000,000 gift from a local family to help fund the construction of the National Mounted Warrior Museum, bringing the project to 80 percent of its total capital campaign goal.

City council okays free use of city park by chamber for Rabbit Fest

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press  The Copperas Cove city council approved the use of City Park by the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce for Rabbit Fest, and other events, at no cost to the chamber via a new ordinance passed at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

Early voting ongoing

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press  A total of 234 voters turned out during the first three days of early voting in Copperas Cove, with 683 in Gatesville, for a total of 1227 votes being cast in Coryell County, including 310 mail-in ballots. Early voting continues today until 5 p.m.

Early voting starts today

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press  The polls in Coryell County will be open today until 7 p.m., to start the first week of early voting in advance of the March 6 primary election.  Polls will be open Wednesday-Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Voting will continue next week Monday, February 26; 8 a.m.
