Active tensions

Folks, I’m going to be doing a bit of preaching here. I’m seeing a few things out there I don’t like, and I feel the need to say a few words about it. Yes, some of it’s mirroring what I’ve been saying on the STIVE YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.

House joins Senate in passing constitutional convention measure

The Texas House of Representatives on May 4 approved Senate Joint Resolution 2, a measure calling for a convention of the states, as contemplated and enabled by Article V of the U.S. Constitution. The state Senate on Feb. 28 originally passed SJR 2, authored by Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury.

Coulda woulda shoulda

Wild finish!

It was an exciting finish for the softball and baseball teams last week. The Lady Dawgs were defeated by Duncanville in the first round of the playoffs. The Dawgs had a wild finish forcing a regular season playoff game for the fourth spot in the playoffs verses Belton.

During his “State of the State” address on Jan. 31, Governor Greg Abbott declared legislation banning so-called “sanctuary cities” to be one of his top priorities and an emergency item, saying: “Elected officials don’t get to pick and choose which laws they obey.

Well folks, since Free Comic Book Day is soon to be upon us (this weekend, in fact), I figured that I’d take a few minutes and look at some comic… strips that I’d like to put forward for public consideration, some of which you will in fact find in comic book or paperback format at your local comic...

Beauty and the devil

Sometimes it takes forever to get me out of an art museum. When I’m at an art museum observing a painting, I look at the whole thing first. If I especially like it, I’ll step up for a closer look and take in the colors, the brush strokes, images in the painting. Details can be a beautiful thing.
