Cove Bass Club competes at Stillhouse Hollow Lake

By JACK JOHNSON Special to the Leader-Press The Copperas Cove Bass Club held its monthly tournament on Stillhouse Hollow Lake last Saturday. The weather forecast for the day was cloudy, with a chance of afternoon rain and winds from 10-15 and gust up to 20 mph out of the south and south west.

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press The Copperas Cove Dawg Tennis team played host to the annual Dawg Classic held at three area locations on Saturday. Some of the top finishers came on the home court for the Dawgs against some of the toughest competition.

By TJ MAXWELL Cove Leader-Press WACO - The Copperas Cove Tennis team had one of their best outings in recent history, bringing home 13 medals from the Robinson Rocket Invitational in Waco last Friday.

Despite the loss, the Bulldawgs wrapped up the fourth spot in the playoffs where they will face No. 2 Cedar Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Glen Rose High School.

Bass club holds first 2017 tourney

By JACK JOHNSON Special to the Leader-Press The Copperas Cove Bass Club held its first tournament of the 2017 season on Lake Waco on Saturday, Jan. 28. The weather predictions were for a very cold 33-degree temperature at launch time with only a high of 48 degrees predicted for the day.
