Longtime Copperas Cove resident, Cove Santa, to be remembered

Clyde Delane Sowell Jr., known as CJ and “Cove Santa”, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at his home in Copperas Cove. CJ was a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brightened the lives of everyone blessed to know him.

Wednesday house fire displaces four

By LYNETTE SOWELL  Cove Leader-Press    A house fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon at the house on the corner of Oak Street and Rodney Avenue.  The Copperas Cove Fire Department responded with its ladder truck, fire engine, three ambulances, and two supervisors.

Volunteers start work on Avenue D mural celebrating total solar eclipse

SKYWARN Class set for Tuesday in Copperas Cove

Students compete at Coryell County Youth Fair
