Council takas vote, proposes 2016 property tax rate

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press   On Thursday, the Copperas Cove city council held a special meeting during which it took a record vote for a proposed tax rate for 2016. Councilwoman Marty Smith made a motion to propose the current property tax rate of 79.7908 cents per $100 valuation.

Special to Leader-Press   The Copperas Cove Optimist International Club met on July 22 at the Optimist Club Secondhand Thrift Store. President Sandor Vegh called the meeting to order and welcomed the club’s newest members.

By PAMELA GRANT Cove Leader-Press   Teens dove for discs of dough and generally had a good time at Tuesday’s dough show.   The dough show, put on by Domino’s, was the Copperas Cove Public Library’s way of rewarding teenagers for meeting their summer reading goals.
