Junior homecoming dance to benefit students in need

Special to Leader-Press —Nearly 70 percent of Copperas Cove ISD’s students are enrolled in the free and reduced price meal plan at their respective schools.  As the percentage of families in-need continues to climb, CCISD is now offering free breakfast to all students in the district.

Pink Warrior Angels preparing for 5th annual 5K

By PAMELA GRANT Cove Leader-Press  The Pink Warrior Angels of Central Texas (PWATX) are gearing up to ensure their 5th annual Pink Warrior Dash will be a huge success. Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the Pink Warrior Angels held a special Pink Warrior Dash registration party outside of Walmart.

CCISD trustees approve budget, lower tax rate

BRITTANY FHOLER  Cove Leader-Press  The Copperas Cove Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the budget and tax rate for the 2019-2020 school year during a special meeting held Thursday evening.  The board unanimously approved a tax rate that is $0.07 less than last year’s rate.
