Copperas Cove Homecoming King, Queen to be crowned

The Copperas Cove High School Homecoming Court will take the field tonight, where three duchesses, one king and one queen will be crowned at Bulldawg Stadium during the Homecoming football game against the Ellison Eagles. 
The 2019 Homecoming Court was named last week with Freshman Duchess Elaina Medina; Sophomore Duchess Danielle Devins; and Junior Duchess Shakira Lumpkin. 
The finalists for Homecoming King and Queen are Zachary Hoyle, Christian Tuiasosopo and Leonardo Deleon Ortiz for King; and Marilyn Hernandez, Chantel Smith and Madisen Honea for Queen. 
Zachary Hoyle is sponsored by Athletic Training/Football and is the son of Lean and Joseph French. He plans to attend college after graduation to begin working towards his goal of having a career as a game warden and eventually a zoologist. Christian Tuiasosopo is sponsored by DECA and is the son of Jeff and Darla Tuiasosopo. He plans to attend the University of Hawaii and study in the field of business management to become an entrepreneur in the sports agency industry. Leonardo Deleon Ortiz is sponsored by Soccer and is the son of David Deleon and Militza Ortiz. He plans to attend Texas College to fulfill his soccer career before going on to open his own mechanic shop. 
Marilyn Hernandez is sponsored by Athletic Training and is the daughter of Anthony and Sandy Hernandez. She plans to attend Texas A&M University to obtain her BSN and a master’s degree in psychology/mental health counseling to fulfill her career goal of becoming a family and marriage counselor. Chantel Smith is sponsored by the National Honor Society and is the daughter of Tim and Blenda Smith. She plans to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to study nursing. Her goals are to become an RN and later a certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Madisen Honea is sponsored by Lady Dawg Basketball and is the daughter of Tracy Honea. She plans to continue her education and basketball career at a four-year university. 
Freshman Elaina Medina is sponsored by the Pride of Cove Band and is the daughter of Erika and Randy Medina. She aspires to become a therapist or pediatric nurse. Sophomore Danielle Devins is sponsored by the 10th Grade Class Officers and is the daughter of Horace and Anne Devins. She hopes to become an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Junior Shakira Lumpkins is sponsored by HOSA and is the daughter of Clint and Keatha Gipson. She hopes to attend the University of Alabama and graduate with her Bachelor’s in Nursing and pursue a career as a travel nurse in pediatrics.
