Coryell County numbers increase, unconfirmed 5th COVID-19 death

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press    On Friday afternoon, Coryell County updated its COVID-19 tracker to show that there were 408 total cases in the county, with 264 active cases, down from 305 active cases on Thursday. A total of 143 have recovered in Coryell County, up from 93 on Thursday.

CCISD, Walmart collect school supplies at 6th annual Stuff the Bus

By BRITTANY FHOLER  Cove Leader-Press    The Copperas Cove Independent School District partnered with the Copperas Cove Wal-Mart for the sixth annual Stuff the Bus event to collect more than $20,000 worth of school supplies for needy students this past weekend.

Special to Leader-Press    Sixty-two percent of Copperas Cove ISD students qualify for the free and reduced meal program. Many of these students’ families may find it challenging to afford school supplies on a regular school year. The pandemic makes purchasing supplies even more difficult.
