My Brother’s House food pantry gets facelift from Rabbit Fest royalty

Special to the Leader Press

More than 10 hours of work, more than 15 people and the result was a beautiful new look for My Brother’s House, the food pantry of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Cove.

Senior Ms. Rabbit Fest Edith Natividad led the effort to give the facility a fresh new look as she and her royalty family painted from sun up to sundown on Saturday. Natividad started volunteering with the food pantry in 2000 while serving as a youth ministry leader with the church.

“This place isn’t just a food pantry. They minister to people every way possible,” Natividad said. “They help people if they have a disconnection notice for water and electric and they visit people to make sure they have decent living conditions. If they go to their house and they don’t have any furniture, they’ll get them some furniture.”
