    In the space of about 25 minutes, James Powell told the second graders at Clements- Parsons Elementary School about the history of Texas—from the dinosaurs to Fort Hood. Dressed in Western wear, Powell had the appearance of a cowboy that stepped out of history as he talked about the changes that came to what’s now the state of Texas.
