For young ladies and women needing a dress for a formal banquet, military ball, pageant or other special event, the fairy godmother was in Copperas Cove on Friday, selling gently worn formal gowns for a fraction of their original retail cost. Keri Byer of Leander is the self-described “fairy godmother” with Austin Fairy Godmother, a Leander dress boutique. About a year ago she had tried opening a storefront in Killeen—Fort Hood Fairy Godmother—but ended up closing the boutique’s doors and going in a different direction.
