Council follows Mayors lead on sidewalks

By DAVID MORRIS

A unified Copperas Cove City Council followed the direction of Mayor John Hull Tuesday night where he directed the Avenue D sidewalk project to be split into three phases and submitting at both the regional level and state level for funding. Phase I of thesidewalk project will be submitted to the regional level in an application due by Wednesday and the remaining projects to the state level for fiscal years 2015 and 2016. “I don’t think there is enough money at the regional level for them to fund the whole project,” said Hull. “It is better if we split it over both pools of funds over multiple years. The project as a whole is something over $600,000.”
