Copperas Cove High School students might as well have had brooms and dust pans in their hands on Saturday as they literally swept the competition under the rug at the University Interscholastic League competition at Belton High School. Thirty-three students representing CCHS in 11 different events competed against 16 other schools in Belton ISD, Killeen ISD, Waco ISD, Lampasas and other districts. CCHS garnered the 1st Place Over-All Sweepstakes trophy and captured numerous other honors as both teams and individuals throughout the events including debate, journalism, accounting, spelling and math.
