The City of Copperas Cove’s Utilities Department is holding a second town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 5, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, located at 1206 W. Ave. B.

Citizens may also view/participate in the meeting via Facebook Live on the City of Copperas Cove’s Facebook page. Food items will be available onsite while supplies last.

The meeting is set to coincide with the city’s transition to an outside provider to manage the approximately 13,000 accounts in its department.

The go-live date had been changed from March 20 to April 3, it was announced at the first town hall meeting in March.

As with the last meeting, residents are welcome to come with their questions for the city as well as representatives of FATHOM Water Systems, Inc.

Tomorrow’s meeting will serve as an update and another overview of the new payment options available to utility customers, to include a smartphone app in which customers can track real-time usage at 15-minute intervals.

Topics to be covered will include: Going Live, Billing & Payment Collection, Customer Service, Account Numbers and U2You.

The changeout of the water meters began in October 2016, with a few meters left to be changed out as of the last meeting.

Fathom representatives at the last meeting said the City of Copperas Cove will have its own dedicated set of customer service representatives at the company’s call center.

The intent of the transition is to increase availability over the phone for customers, who often waited days for a response from the Utility Department.
