The morning rain plagued with rain; however, it stopped falling in time for the wreath laying ceremony at the Copperas Cove Cemetery. As attendees paid their respects to our fallen soldiers, thunder boomed ominously in the background, but not a single drop of rain fell until after the ceremony’s conclusion. The Memorial Day ceremony was hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Copperas Cove Texas in honor of those soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary typically host a Memorial Day ceremony which honors Olan Forrest Smith as a representative for all of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country.
