Three dead, two injured in Saturday crash east of Lampasas

A Copperas Cove woman, a teenager, and a Lampasas man are dead, and two children injured after a head-on collision on Saturday evening just east of Lampasas in U.S. 190.
According to a media release issued Monday morning by Sgt. Bryan Washko with the Texas Department of Public Safety, 35-year-old Raul Jaimes Sanchez of Lampasas was driving a 2005 Lexus sedan westbound on U.S. 190 shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, when he entered the center turn lane, according to witnesses. 
His vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lane where it collided head-on with a 2024 Lincoln SUV driven by 41-year-old Adela Suarez Villa of Copperas Cove. 
Sanchez was pronounced deceased at the scene. 
Villa was transported to AdventHealth Emergency Room, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff, Washko said.
A 14-year-old male passenger in the Lincoln with Villa was also transported to the emergency room and later died as a result of his injuries. 

A 12-year-old female and a 9-year-old male passenger in the Lincoln were transported for non-incapacitating injuries.
This crash remains under active investigation, said Washko. 
The incident occurred east of Lampasas.
