Teacher eats worms to fulfill STAAR promise

Cove Leader-Press Students at Clements-Parsons Elementary cried out in excitement as well as disgust as teachers fulfilled their end of a bargain they made before students took their state tests. Four 5th grade teachers promised students that they would do a number of gross tasks, should the students exceed their goal on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test. Fifth grade math teacher Deborah Trundle kissed a bulldog, science and social studies teacher Larissa Wilkonson kissed a guinea pig, math teacher Janet Dees ate frog legs, and Michele Cox ate live worms.
