Stackin Tees, Cactus Lilly Boutique hold ribbon cutting, grand opening

A Copperas Cove couple celebrated the opening of their first storefront on Wednesday afternoon by holding a ribbon cutting.
Kody and Shwana Heinze had been operating both businesses from their homes and felt the need to branch out to a storefront.
Kody operates Stackin Tees, providing T-shirt and decal printing services, as well as embroidery and more.
A 2009 graduate of Copperas Cove High School, Kody is not new to being an entrepreneur. Several years ago, he had a game call business and wanted some decals for them, but found the cost a little steep.
“I figured I could just print the decals myself, and then I started printing things for friends, and word got around,” Kody said. “We can print a few shirts, but we also specialize in quantity orders, from 300 to as many as 1,500.”
Kody said they’ve filled orders for groups like the First Cavalry Association.
Kody’s wife, Shwana, also started out with Cactus Lilly Boutique as initially a home-based business, selling women’s fashions and accessories. She named her shop after the flowers on a cactus and said she started the business to help fill what she saw as a shopping need for local women.
“I started the business a year ago, because I wanted to provide fashions for women, something that’s stylish but doesn’t make you look like you’re going out to a club,” Shwanna said. “I go to the marketplace in Dallas every two months or so and see what they have to offer.”
The couple, who has two young daughters, both agreed that their businesses had grown to the point where a storefront was needed.
“It also helps to have a separate place for us to do business, away from our home,” Kody said.
On Saturday, Oct. 13, the two shops will have a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“I’ll be demonstrating live printing, so people can see the process from start to finish,” Kody said.
Cactus Lilly Boutique and Stackin Tees are both located at 1406 S. F.M. 116 Suite D.
